How It Works

  • A sales order can be created directly or converted from an accepted quote.
  • Order status tracks progress from draft and sent through confirmed, in progress, completed, or cancelled.
  • Line totals use the same quantity, price, discount, and tax structure as quotes.

Recommended Workflow

  1. Create a new order or convert from an accepted quote.
  2. Confirm the account, contact, deal, source quote, and customer reference.
  3. Review line items and totals.
  4. Set the order status and due date.
  5. Save, preview, and print or share according to your process.

Best Practice

  • Use conversion from quote when possible to avoid retyping lines.
  • Do not mark an order completed until your company process is finished.
  • Keep cancelled orders for history unless company policy says otherwise.

Troubleshooting

  • If the source quote link is missing, confirm the order was converted from a quote.
  • If totals differ from the quote, compare each line and tax rate.
  • If print preview does not show the latest changes, save the order first.
